Research Projects Using Royal Roads University

Royal Roads University Policy

AVP Research & Faculty Affairs

Research projects which seek to use RRU as a site of investigation need to be approved by the Office of the Vice-President Academic and Provost.

Students, faculty and external researchers who wish to use human participants are required, as a matter of course, to go through the ethical review process. This general requirement of course applies to cases in which individuals in the university are subjects in the research. Beyond the ethical review process, there are issues that arise for projects, whether they require ethical review or not, that require a decision to be made as to whether the university is willing to permit them to proceed. That decision is required for projects that seek to use resources of the university, generally but not limited to the time and energy of employees of the university.
