Board Policy Statement

Royal Roads University will further its reputation as an institution of high academic integrity by recognizing the expertise of faculty to provide input on academic matters.

The Board, through the President, will seek consultation with Academic Council on the following:

  1. The establishment or discontinuance of programs at the University;
  2. The establishment or discontinuance of faculties at the University;
  3. The establishment or discontinuance of Schools at the University;
  4. The establishment or discontinuance of Academic or Research Centres at the University

Philosophy

The future success of Royal Roads University is dependent on achieving a reputation as an institution with high academic integrity and quality.  Such a reputation can only be secured with the active participation of faculty members in academic matters.

President's Responsibilities

The President will ensure that clear administrative policies and procedures are in place to enact the policy.

Information, Action and Monitoring Requirements for the Board

The President will report anually on progress towards the policy objectives.
